All three run online
Three programmes · for three different starting points

The half of the result that happens between appointments.

A patient is in your chair for ninety minutes a month. For the other thirty days their skin, their hair and their recovery are being built out of what they eat, and nothing in the treatment plan is looking at that.

I2CAN teaches three nutrition programmes with separate audiences. The Certificate in Skin & Hair Nutrition is open to doctors and non-doctors. The Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics is open to doctors only. The Diploma in Food Nutrition & Dietetics is a six-month vocational entry qualification open from 10th pass, and does not lead to registration as a dietitian.

Three programmes. The first thing to settle is which one is yours.

These three do not compete with each other. Almost nobody is a candidate for more than one at a time, so rather than make you work it out, here is each of them in the words the people who enrol tend to use.

If you already treat skin and hair
“My protocols work. On some patients they work better than on others, and I cannot always say why.”

The variable you are not measuring. This programme gives you a nutrition assessment you can run inside the consultation you are already having, with the patient already in front of you, and a defensible reason to charge for it.

It is designed to sit on top of aesthetic medicine or cosmetology training. It is not a standalone qualification and it does not need to be.

If you already see patients with medical conditions
“They ask me what they should be eating. I was never taught the answer in any real detail.”

Therapeutic nutrition for the conditions you already manage: diabetes, cardiovascular and renal disease, weight loss and weight gain, recovery after surgery. How the composition of a diet changes when the diagnosis changes, and how to write a plan a patient will actually follow.

Restricted to doctors, because prescribing nutrition around a diagnosis is clinical work and we are not willing to teach it as though it were not. The eligibility guide sets out which qualification may take which programme, and why.

If you want to work in nutrition and do not know where to start
“I want this to be my field. I have no background and no idea what the first step is.”

This is the first step. Twelve modules from fundamentals through to medical nutrition therapy, and then the part that matters: two months of supervised internship rather than a certificate and a handshake.

It is an entry qualification, not a degree. What it gives you is the grounding to hold an informed conversation and to offer general, everyday nutrition guidance. The questions below set out exactly where that line sits.

Why this matters clinically

The variable nobody in the treatment plan is looking at

Two patients with the same presentation, on the same protocol, do not get the same result. A meaningful share of that difference sits outside the clinic, and it is the part the patient controls every single day.

Acne that keeps coming back

Diets with a high glycaemic load, refined carbohydrate, sugar, heavily processed food, are associated with more acne, and lowering that load is associated with improvement. The evidence on dairy, particularly skimmed milk, points the same way but is weaker. Neither replaces a peel or a medical protocol. Both change what that protocol has to work against.

Hair that keeps shedding

Diffuse shedding in an otherwise well patient is frequently a supply problem: depleted iron stores, inadequate protein, rapid weight loss, a recent illness. Serum ferritin can be low while haemoglobin is entirely normal, so a routine blood count does not rule it out. A patient on a hair protocol with empty iron stores is being treated at the wrong end.

Recovery that takes too long

Healing after peels, microneedling and laser depends on protein and micronutrient availability. A patient eating badly heals more slowly, is more prone to post-inflammatory pigmentation, and blames the procedure.

Pigmentation that will not settle

Sun exposure and hormones dominate here, and no diet resolves melasma. But antioxidant status and background inflammation are part of the picture, and they happen to be the part the patient influences daily.

And the part that is not clinical at all

Nutrition is the only capability in this field that needs no machine, no treatment room and no consumables. Nothing to buy, nothing to depreciate, nothing to keep busy. It is the highest-margin thing a practice can add, and the only one that can be delivered as easily online as in person.

For the practitioner

A paid assessment and plan attached to a treatment package you are already selling. Same patient, same appointment, new line item.

For the doctor

A billable consultation for patients already walking through the door. Existing footfall, no acquisition cost.

For someone entering the field

Consultations, clinic and hospital roles, corporate wellness, and online practice: work that can be done from anywhere.

This section is written to be read by professionals and is reviewed by our faculty. It is general clinical background, not advice for an individual patient.

The add-on

Certificate in Skin & Hair Nutrition

Nutrition for aesthetic practice. Built for people who already treat skin and hair and want to close the gap between what the treatment does and what the patient does for the other thirty days.

What it leads to

Outcome
A service, not a subject

A nutrition assessment you can offer as a paid part of every treatment plan, a reason for the patient to come back between procedures, and an explanation you can give when a result is slower than expected.

Commonly taken alongsideThe aesthetic medicine diploma for doctors, the cosmetology and trichology diploma for non-doctors. For most students this is an addition to a qualification they already hold or are taking.

For doctors

Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics

Therapeutic nutrition for diagnosed conditions. Restricted to doctors, and the eligibility rule is the point rather than an obstacle: this is prescribing around a diagnosis.

Outcome
A consultation you can bill

A nutrition consultation offered to patients you are already treating: the lowest-cost service line a practice can open, because the patient is already in the building and the trust is already there.

The two-month internship

Why this one is different
Supervised practice, not an exam

Most online nutrition programmes in India end at the assessment. This one ends with you working with real people under supervision, which is the difference between having studied nutrition and having done it.

Internship detailPlacement, supervision arrangements and case load to be published. The specifics belong here and they are the strongest thing on this page.
Programme details

DFND is an entry qualification. It is not a degree, and completing it does not make you a registered dietitian. We set out plainly below what you may and may not do with it, and the eligibility guide covers scope of practice across every programme, a boundary worth knowing before you enrol rather than after.

What you are certified by
Each of the three programmes carries an I2CAN qualification. The institute’s accreditations are listed below; what applies specifically to the nutrition programmes should be stated here rather than inferred from the institute as a whole, and is to be confirmed before publication.

What each of these means for you as a student

Not sure which of the three applies to you?

Tell us what you do now and what you are picturing, and we will tell you honestly which one fits, including if the answer is none of them yet, or if what you actually need is a course on the aesthetic side with nutrition added to it.

Or call 8484951323. All three programmes run online, so wherever you are is not a problem.

How it is taught

Nutrition is not learned by memorising food tables

Anyone can look up how much protein is in a hundred grams of anything. What takes teaching is deciding what a particular person should eat, given their condition, their budget, their household and the fact that they will not follow a plan they dislike.

The judgement

Deciding what to advise, and for whom

Assessment before advice. How to take a history, what to look for, when a symptom points to a supply problem and when it does not, and where your own boundary is: the point at which the honest answer is a referral rather than a plan.

The application

Turning it into a plan someone will follow

Real cases, carried through the programme rather than shown at the end. Indian diets, Indian households, and the practical constraints that decide whether advice survives contact with the person receiving it.

The method is the same one we use across the institute: understand the concept, see it applied to a real person, then do it yourself. Cases run throughout rather than appearing at the end, so you are continually applying what you have just learned instead of accumulating it and hoping it stays.

These are online programmes, and we would rather say so plainly than dress it up. There is no procedure to perform and no machine to learn, so the hands-on claim we make elsewhere on this site does not apply here and we are not going to borrow it. What carries the learning instead is case work, and for the six-month diploma, two months of supervised practice with real people, which is more than most online nutrition programmes in India ask of a student.

“The best hands-on I have seen anywhere.”
What our students say about the aesthetic programmes, across more than a thousand reviews of our Pune and Navi Mumbai centres, averaging 4.9. The nutrition programmes are taught by the same faculty, to the same method, in a format that suits the subject.

The long view

The programme ends. The relationship does not.

Everything below is included, none of it expires, and there is no subscription attached to any of it.

What you keep after the last session

The questions that matter tend to arrive later: the patient whose hair fall will not settle, the client who has read something alarming online, the case that does not match anything in the notes. Our alumni have somewhere to put those, and an answer usually comes the same day.

Come back any time

Re-attend the programme you paid for in any future batch, without limit and without further fee. To be confirmed for all three.

Free update sessions

Regular online sessions on what has changed. Nutrition moves, and a plan written on five-year-old thinking shows.

The support group

Post a case, get answers from faculty and from people who have already seen it.

Practice guidance

How to set a consultation up, what to charge for, how to document a plan, and how to find your first clients.

Nutrition practice needs no equipment, no premises and no stock, which makes it the one capability on this site you can start using the week after you finish: from a clinic, from a salon, or from home.

Common questions

Questions people ask us about the nutrition programmes

Choosing between the three

The Certificate in Skin & Hair Nutrition. It is built to sit on top of what you already do, it is the shortest of the three, and it is the only one designed as an addition to an existing practice rather than a qualification in its own right.

The Diploma in Food Nutrition & Dietetics. It assumes no background, and the two-month supervised internship at the end is the part that turns study into something you have actually done.

Yes, and one combination is common: Skin & Hair Nutrition alongside an aesthetic medicine or cosmetology diploma. The other combinations are rarer, mostly because each of the three is aimed at a different point in a career. A counsellor will tell you plainly if a second one would add nothing.

No. The clinical diploma is restricted to doctors, so it is not available as a progression from the entry diploma. We would rather say that clearly than let you assume a route that is not there. If you complete the entry diploma and want more, tell a counsellor what you are aiming at and they will tell you honestly what exists today.

Eligibility, and what you may actually do

Doctors only. Prescribing nutrition around a diagnosis is clinical work. Deciding what someone with kidney disease or uncontrolled diabetes should eat carries the same responsibility as any other part of managing them. We are not willing to teach that to people who are not in a position to carry it.

Yes. It is open to doctors and non-doctors alike, and it is one of the few ways a non-medical practitioner can improve a patient’s outcome without stepping anywhere near something they are not permitted to do.

You can hold an informed conversation with a client about food and eating, and offer general, everyday nutrition guidance: the kind of advice that applies to a broadly healthy person who wants to eat better. What it does not qualify you to do is advise anyone around a diagnosed medical condition. That is clinical work, it belongs to the clinical diploma, and the clinical diploma is restricted to doctors. Knowing where that line sits is part of practising well.

No. It is a vocational diploma, not a university degree, and it does not lead to registration as a dietitian. Anyone telling you a short online programme does is not being straight with you. What it is, is a real first qualification with supervised practice attached, which is more than most entry programmes in this field offer.

Format, internship and assessment

All three are online. There is no procedure to perform and no equipment to learn, so a classroom would add travel and cost without adding anything to the teaching.

Supervised work with real people, rather than a written assessment. Placement arrangements, supervision and case load to be published.

That is what the online format is for. Nobody has to close a clinic, leave a salon chair or take leave to do any of these three.

Assessment method and certification detail to be published.

English and Hindi, to be confirmed for each programme.

Afterwards

Our diploma programmes can be re-attended in future batches without limit and without further fee. To be confirmed for all three nutrition programmes before publication.

For practitioners, a nutrition assessment and plan offered as part of a treatment package: same patient, same appointment, a service the patient can see the value of. For doctors, a consultation billed to people already in the practice. For entry-diploma graduates, general nutrition guidance and consultations within the boundary described above. None of it needs equipment, premises or stock, which is why it starts earning sooner than anything else on this site.

Yes, and it does not expire. The alumni support group, free update sessions, and practical guidance on setting up a consultation, all included, none of it charged for separately.

The first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Tell us what you do now and what you are picturing. If one of the three fits, we will say which and why. If the honest answer is that you should be looking at the aesthetic side of the site with nutrition added on top, we will say that instead. It is a common answer and it is better said now than after you have paid.
